PositionIT_BackerCard_C

Over the 30 years of Cathie Allan's stamping life" she has become an avid fan of "stamping toys and tools" that help her achieve the look she wants in her projects.  Throughout this time she purchased positioner after positioner always looking for a little more from the tools that were available on the market.  Some were not thick enough, some slipped on her projects, some rocked etc., etc.  Finally she took matters into her own hands and using pieces of this and pieces of that she created a prototype of a positioner that had all the qualities she needed and then added a twist of her own.  She credits her "stamping angels" for her inspiration.

The result of 30 years of almost "24/7" stamping and an absolute passion for the art led her to this design.  It is the most complete and versatile "positioner/re-positioner" on the market.  It is meant to be used by all those who love "an original" as opposed to a "copy".  This tool is for the "artist in you" to be able to achieve professional results on your projects that were once difficult to produce and to open up the ability for new and innovative techniques not possible before

INSTRUCTIONS

The “non-slip” positioner for cardmakers and scrapbookers.

The Position-it is going to open up a whole new world of creative stamping fun for the card maker and scrapbooker alike. This tool will enable you to perfectly align your wood and cling mounted stamps and allow you to stamp these and your polymer stamps in EXACTLY the same position over and over again. Creative opportunities await you with this new tool!

Remove the feet from the enclosed backer sheet and place on both positioners as shown

For use as a positioner (lining images up):

1. Place the acetate precisely in the corner of either the main postioner or the sub positioner.

2. Stamp onto the acetate by bringing your stamp down in the corner of the positioner and onto the acetate. (Pigment ink will render a precise image and will clean off your acetate with water. If you use a multi-surface ink you will need a permanent stamp ink cleaner to remove the image from the acetate. ALWAYS test first)

3. Using the acetate, position your image as you desire to see it on your project.

4. Hold the acetate securely in place on your project while placing the positioner back in place so that the acetate fits once again, snugly into the corner of the positioner.

5. Remove the acetate and while holding your “non-slip” positioner in place stamp your image onto your project.

6. Allow image to dry or heat set before lining up more images.

For use as a “re-postitioner” for perfect coloring or painting

(In this way, you, will not lose any detail as the detail is put back in after you have colored)

1. Place your cardstock under the main positioner and tape well, to the base using a “post-it” note, style tape.  From this point on you will always stamp into the corner of your positioner.

2. Stamp your image in a light color.

3. Coloryourimageusingyourfavoritemedium.Thebeautyofthisisyoucan even paint your image in, covering the detail. Since you have taped your project down to the base securely you can remove the main positioner to make coloring easier.

4. When the coloring (or painting) is complete and DRY re-stamp your image using a darker ink. ALL THE BEAUTIFUL DETAIL IS BACK.

5. If you so choose you can also decide to emboss the image. Simply stamp the image AGAIN this time with a pigment ink or clear embossing ink. Remove from the positioner, apply embossing powder and heat. You are never out of choices with “Cathie Allan’s Position-it”.

Want to move further “into” the project? Place the “sub-positioner” into the corner of the “main postioner” and repeat steps 2 thru 4.

The re-positioner opens up so many possibilities. Because you can now stamp in EXACTLY the same place you can now emboss any image that you have stamped (whether you have used pigment ink or not) or for that matter emboss only portions of that stamped image.

Using a solid image, rubber stamp,

1. Stamp the image using several colors of ink by inking the stamp with markers or using a stylus and a foam tip (available thru Clearsnap). Ink each area separately (i.e.: if it is a rose stamp, ink the flower part of the rose with red dye based ink and the leaves with green). If you are worried that the ink will dry on your stamp before you get all colors applied, you can stamp each “area” of the stamp as you ink because the re-positioner will allow you to stamp the areas one at a time, building to a complete image. Work from lightest color to darkest color.

2. Once you have a complete image, re-stamp (after cleaning your stamp) with clear embossing ink, remove from the “re-postitioner, apply clear embossing powder and heat.

3. If you only want to emboss the flower portion of the rose, clean your stamp and let it dry. Using masking tape, mask out the leaf portion of your stamp and then ink only the flower with clear embossing ink. REMOVE the tape and then stamp. Take the project out of “Cathie Allan’s Position-it”, apply clear embossing powder and heat.

OHHHHH, THE POSSIBILITIES!!
